Costume
CAMPAIGN
Every stitch tells a story. Every costume carries the soul.
Costumes are more than garments; they are an integral part of storytelling, a bridge connecting the audience to the emotion and narrative of the ballet. Sustainability is at the heart of the Alberta Ballet’s vision. By crafting costumes with longevity in mind we can ensure these works of art can be reused in future productions, reducing waste and preserving our resources. It is incumbent upon us to ensure that the tradition of costume making endures.
Although Alberta Ballet does own costumery for some ballets much of it is old and if it can be, is re‑purposed for the Alberta Ballet School. The majority are rented from other companies for the duration of our performances.
Don Quixote will be the first ballet this Season featuring new costumes designed by Gianluca Falaschi, handmade in his Rome atelier with sustainability in mind. This is a world premiere of Francesco Ventrigilia’s freshly reimagined Don Quixote and a grand finale to the Season and kickoff to the Costume Campaign.
Our goal is to raise $500,000 by the end of the 2025/26 season.
Help us meet our goal today!
